Shaping a sustainable future with uncompromised quality and performance
Introducing our ECO coolants
As part of our commitment to sustainable innovation in heat transfer and cooling technologies, we are proud to present the ECO coolants across all our brands.
Our ECO coolants incorporate base fluids derived from bio-based or recycled raw materials, allocated through a certified mass balance approach. This approach enables us to gradually increase the share of bio-based and/or recycled materials in our production process without altering the existing infrastructure.
The final ECO product has a reduced product carbon footprint (PCF) compared to the virgin fossil-based equivalent, while maintaining the same trusted quality and performance.

Responsibility to drive meaningful change
With our leadership position in the coolant and heat transfer market, we recognise our responsibility to drive meaningful change. We’re accelerating the transition to cleaner, smarter cooling technologies by offering more sustainable cooling solutions compared to our existing products.
How it works
Our life cycle assessment studies showed that the biggest environmental impacts of our coolants, especially related to climate change, come from virgin fossil-based fluids at the start of the value chain.
That is why we first focus on sourcing base fluids such as monoethylene glycol (MEG) and monopropylene glycol (MPG) from renewable bio-based feedstocks or recycled sources. This approach does not only reduce dependence on virgin fossil sources, but also reduce the carbon footprint of our products.
In addition, our ISCC PLUS certified mass balance system ensures full traceability of sustainable content across the value chain.
Your benefits
By choosing the ECO product range you choose to save fossil-based resources. Our existing products in their ECO version demonstrate clear climate benefits, while preserving the trusted quality and performance, which can contribute to lowering customers scope 3 emissions.
Each product is supported by life cycle assessment or carbon footprint data, ensuring full transparency.
Our ECO product line covers: Freecor® ECO, Freecor® EV ECO, ZITREC® EC ECO, and Zitrec® TF ECO.
This range offers customers the flexibility to choose the percentage of renewable or recycled content, balancing sustainability with cost considerations.
At Arteco, we are committed to clear climate ambitions and dedicated to supporting our customers in achieving their sustainability goals. Through our certified mass balance approach, we are ready for an immediate transition to more sustainable feedstocks.
Part of our ACT sustainability strategy
At Arteco, we firmly believe the future of cooling must be sustainable. This initiative is part of our ACT - Accelerate Change Together – sustainability strategy, which reflects our dedication to climate action, smart resource use, and care for people and communities. This new family of ECO coolants is an extension of that commitment.
Sustainability at Arteco is a continuous journey, one where we keep researching, innovating, and collaborating to create cleaner and smarter cooling solutions.
Our current initiatives include innovative projects in the field of circular economy, aimed at closing the coolant loop, reducing waste and maximising resource efficiency. If you are curious to learn more, don't hesitate to contact us.
